Share a Slice of Life at Academy

If you've got a video ready to upload and be shown, putting it in an article here is no biggie. For those already somewhat in the know; you can copy the embed code from Youtube, and paste it into your academyvt.com article...
or
use the simplified version where you place the YouTube ID# in a tag, in your article, like so:

^{{youtube} YOuTubeID#}

Visualizing Ideas

In the Feature Section of the Site, there's a link to Visual Literacy, which leads to a cool Flash Interactive Pyramid.

When you rollover any of the items, a graphic example pops up that is directly to the point.

The steps lead all the way up to the Academy Award, given for successful and creative communication.

Check it out, its well worth exploring.

Video Made Easy

The School now owns three of these digital video cameras, they are kept in the library, and they're just ready and waiting to be checked out.

The devices work just like a digital still camera, and they make the entire video process quick and painless. There are no wires, no tapes- just point and shoot. Click the red button to record, click the button again to stop recording.

When you're done, 'flip' through your clips to see which you'd like to keep, and which to trash. Then it's easy to save and share. Just pop out the USB plug, insert into your USB port on the computer, the device shows up on your desktop, and then you can click and drag the clips you want to save. Or upload them directy to Youtube.

These cameras are fun, and the quality is very good for such a basic item. Please consider giving it a try when you have an end-of-year event worthy of sharing with the Academy Community.
