VALENTINE'S DAY PROBLEMS OF THE WEEK

For Grades 1- 2:  Hannah sent a package to her penpal in the Dominican Republic for Valentine's Day.   There were six stamps on the package.  Four of the stamps were 12 cents stamps.  Two of the stamps were ten cent stamps.   What was the total cost of the package?  Remember to show your work.

For Grades 3-4:  Debbie made 4 dozen heart shaped cookies.She decorated each of them with 3 cherries.   If she bought 4 jars of 40 cherries, did she have enough?    EXPLAIN.      


Grades 5-6:  Four-fifths of the 90 eight graders and three-fourths of the 84 seventh graders attended the Valentine's Day Dance.  How many students attended?  SHOW YOUR WORK.
