Dear Parents -

       Welcome back!  The Personal Culture unit is coming to a close and we are sharing our family stories, family trees, country maps, and flags.  We’re also ready to start our unit on The American Colonies and Revolution.  That should be fun.       

    We’re finishing up our math unit, Measuring Polygons, and this week we’ll start our unit on decimals.  Deb Abbott is seeing some kids in the Math Lab to work on their times tables.

    The Literature Groups continue to be viable. The kids seem to like the small settings.  I’ve sent home permission slips for my group to see the movie, Freak, the Mighty.

     About seven of you consistently send back the signed independent reading logs for your children.  I’d like that number to go up if possible.  Reading at home will certainly help our reading efforts here at school.

    Some parents have been e-mailing me regularly to be informed about their kids’ progress.  Everyone is welcome to do that.  

        I’ve sent home permission slips for our to the NEYT to see The Legend of Sleepy Hollow on March 17.  Mandy Lonergan is my only driver so far.  I need at least one more.  I’ll be in touch.
